Login Fail Terror

  • Hi,
    I’ve made a few wordpress sites over the years and am trying to amalgamate everything into one place, management system.

    I’ve one website (about to die/new domain/look etc) and I can’t sign in for trying. I request password and I’m notified an email has been sent, but nothing is visible.

    So all I know is my email for that site (I have other emails, other sites – and my life needs a super digital tidy up!)

    I’ve worked out my username now, but I’ve requested 6 email new passwords, so probaly locked myself out now.

    Sorry I misread and thought you said you worked the issue out.

    WordPress doesn’t have lock-out behaviour by default. Which plugins are you using?

    The ‘reset password’ emails look as though they are being sent from wordpress login, but not arriving in my inbox (or other parts of email).

    Plugins? Shucks, I wish I knew. I’ve not updated the site for years (2011?) – I wanted to grab all the content from it before I upsticks and move to a new domain/look.

    I reckon all themes/plugins are way out of date on site.

    I’ve searched my email for any record of passwords for ftp /host (filezilla etc) just in case I can grab content that way.

    There are other ways to reset your password/ know your username, but it requires access to the control panel: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Resetting_Your_Password

    mmm, yes.
    The mystery of the missing emails from wordpress to me still lingers, what can it be???
    I’ll also ask my server admin for some help.

    or… now I’ve sussed my username, I’m sure I can recall the original password too, is there a way I can get in?
