    Hi,
how long does it take to migrate the data?

It says ‘Migrating’ + the book title of the most recent book I added to the list. This message has been sitting there for the last 30 minutes (with the same book title). The message about migration being required at the top of the page is also still there.

Can I go back to the previous version? It seems that the new version is not working, i.e. I cannot access my book listings anymore.

    Hi,
I’ve tried several times. It’s definitely not migrating.

I’m sorry you’re having problems. The migration should have been very quick. In my testing, it generally finished before the page was even done loading.

You can roll back to any previous version by following these steps:
    1. go to https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/mooberry-book-manager/developers/
    2. Click on 2.4.2 to download that version
    3. Deactivate Mooberry Book Manager 3.0.4
    4. Delete Mooberry Book Manager 3.0.4 (you’ll get a warning that data will be deleted. No data should be deleted. Click the button to continue.)
    5. Once Mooberry Book Manager 3.0.4 is deleted, you can re-install 2.4.2 by clicking on Add New Plugin
    6. Click on Upload File
    7. Choose the file you downloaded and click upload
    8. Activate the plugin

All of your data should be preserved and it should hopefully work the way it used to.

Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you need further help or if you’d like help getting version 3 to work.

    Hi
Thank you for your quick reply! I’ve installed 2.4.2 and it’s all back to normal. I’ll email you regarding version 3, but it may be a few days as I won’t have much time over Easter.

I guess I will have to rollback as well. My site will not migrate the data either. I thought it might be a cache issue, but turning off the cache made no difference. Using more beta testers might catch these type of problems earlier.

mumser101, please email me at [email protected] with your website link so I can help debug this for you.

I would love to have more beta testers. Unfortunately, of the handful that had agreed to test, only 1 ever responded to me and helped. I tested version 3 on 5 different WP installs myself as well. If you’re interested in being a beta tester, please email me.

Are either of you using Multi-site by any chance?

    Nope…not using multi-site.

    (@rothaar)

Yes, mine is a multi-site installation.

Thought you meant a multi-site plugin. Yes, I have it on two sites, one along with the Story plugin.

    Mumser and Rothaar,

either of you using a caching plugin? W3 Cache, WP Super Cache, or another caching plugin?

    Plugin Author mooberrydreams

    (@mooberrydreams)

Mumser, I see above you mention caching, actually. I have one person who has verified there is a problem with the data migration while using a caching plugin. What plugin are you using?

    Thread Starter rothaar

    (@rothaar)

    Hi
    I’m using W3 Cache.

I had an migration issue with W3 Cache. It just hung on migrating and never finished. On my other site I had WP Super Cache installed. The migration worked perfectly with that cache program. I replaced W3 Cache on the first site and both are now fully migrated. I think WP Super Cache works better, or at least seems faster.

I’m working on the caching issue and also making sure MBM is multi-site compatible. Hopefully that will fix any remaining migration errors.

Not sure on timeframe yet. WordPress 4.5 is coming in a week or two and I’ll need to make updates for that, but I’m hoping I’ll have MBM 3 fixed before that.

Thanks for posting your experience, mumser. Very helpful.
