• So I’ve totally done this incorrectly and made tweaks to the parent theme and not installed a child theme. Is there a most painless way for me to fix this? Should I go ahead and install the update for Hueman (I know it will break all the code tweaks I’ve done) then install the child and reapply my changes to the child theme?

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.. TIA!

  • Back up your WordPress files via FTP.
    I’m not sure what your coding experience is, but you can;

    – Create a child theme.
    – Move all your files to the child theme that you have updated ( header.php, footer.php, etc….)
    – Then you probably will be good. ( There may be issues with functions.php or such )

    This way, you won’t lose any info.

    Thanks so much. So now, both themes are installed.

    Copy over my edited files from Hueman to Being Hueman (child).

    Activate the child theme and I’m good?

    Apply updates to both as they are available?

    Hi khowell8615. If you’re still working on this start a new topic and I’ll see if I can help you.
