Making posts full-width posts using Custom Post Template doesn't work
-
Hi Dmitry,
Did I mention Maker is a gorgeous theme? It is ??I have another question: I want specific blog posts (for example those dedicated to photography) to be full-width, utilizing the full-width page template, which works great with pages (like here for example: https://mike.polischuk.net/trip-to-georgia-and-armenia/ ).
To make the fullwidth template work for posts, I installed the “Custom Post Template” plugin (https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/custom-post-template/), and copy-pasted the fullwidth.php file to template’s home-dir, changing the header, as requested by the plugin (here is my fullwidth.php after the change: https://pastebin.com/Lr7QYWi7). Now, if I open a post edit screen in WordPress, I have the option to select template for the post, either Default or Full-Width. After selecting Full-Width, updating the post and reloading, I get this: https://mike.polischuk.net/2015/10/petra-day-1/ . As you see, the sidebar is indeed removed, but the main content area still occupies the same narrow strip, instead of utilizing the full width of the page.
Any idea how to make this work?
Thanks a lot,
Mike
