pngout, optipng "missing"

Hello,
I just installed Version 2.6.1 and I am getting error message that I am missing: optipng, pngout. The files are there, and the permissions aren’t wrong either (I temporarily opened them up to 777). I confirmed the files existence with FTP.

BTW, host is FatCow.com, running Linux 2.6 Debian Lenny (v5.0) a?? 64 bit.
That’s highly unlikely that the current build of pngout will work on Debian 5 without manually downloading an older release. See this thread for some pointers on how to do that: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/pngout-was-not-installed?replies=25
Slightly surprising that the others work if optipng does not though, as they were all built on the same system. Can you turn on EWWW’s debugging setting and post the debug information from the settings page via pastebin.com please?
PS: if you’ve been looking for an excuse to find a new webhost, the fact that they are running Debian 5 is a pretty good one, as it is 4 years beyond support, which means your server is probably a security nightmare just waiting to happen.

If I need to install out of date binaries, can you point me to exactly the file I’d use? I’m not sure what kind of processor the server is using, and FatCow’s tech support couldn’t tell me either. I dropped them in sequentially, and none worked for me.
BTW, I copied the site onto MY server for updating and debugging, and your plugin worked like a champ. It’s just on this FatCow server that I’m having problems.
After looking through the debug information, I realized that NONE of the bundled binaries are being used. The only reason jpegtran is working is because they have installed that on the server system-wide. I’m afraid there is no way to make optipng and pngout work on that server, they might just need to use the EWWW Cloud API to process PNG images instead.
Thanks for your help. I used the cloud processing and it worked fine. It wasn’t expensive either, a bargain!
