• I upgraded two of my blogs to new WP.

Both of the upgrades went smoothly – except…

on the blog that is a separate folder I cannot make the upgrade automatically function work.

    For example I have
https://www.mysite.com with the blog in the root directory and that is fine
I entered hostname, username and password in FTP part for upgrade automatically and it connected

    in second blog I have
    https://www.myothersite.com/blog
where WP is installed in the folder called blog
I entered hostname (boss.phatserver.com), username and password in FTP part for upgrade automatically and it tells me it cannot connect.

my hosting says they think the problem is wp does not support subdomains – but this does not make any sense?

all of this is hosted on same server – so I am assuming in the first blog it finds the right domain and upgrades there?

please can anyone shed some light here?

  • I can confirm the exact same behavior. I have two blogs hosted by Servage and I am experiencing the precise same errors…

    Someone please advice.

    TIA

I have a custom blog folder name as well and can’t get the feature to work even if I point the hostname to the correct folder, just says can’t connect.
