after login there is still login and register button in top bar

If “login” and “register” are just menu elements, just change the user restriction to “Logged in Users” instead of “All users”.

That might work in your case ??

Just go to Appearance > Menu and edit your menu.
When you click on a menu item you should see something like this:

On the bottom you see the settings for user restrictions.

no I have no plugins for that. And I also tested with another theme to see if it’s theme related…it’s not.

I use the recent WordPress version 4.4.2. No clue, why it looks different in your settings.
