wp – polls 2.21 fails to create db tables in 2.5

wp – polls 2.21 plugin activates but no database tables are created, thus no poll created when data is entered in “new poll”
All I get is…
Error in Adding Poll ‘test’.
Error in Adding Poll’s Answer ‘yes’.
Error in Adding Poll’s Answer ‘no’.thanks for any help…
