    Hello,
I was able to insert a gallery of images using the shortcode, similar to below:

    [gallery media_category="5" category="2" limit="10" monthnum="12" year="2015" orderby="title" order="DESC"] or [playlist media_category="5" category="2" limit="10" monthnum="12" year="2015" orderby="title" order="DESC"]

However, when I tried to do this with PDF documents, it came up with “no files found.” Maybe I have not called it up correctly – I used [gallery pdf_file="37"] (category ID is 37).

I am trying to create a page where new PDF files added to certain categories will show up automatically when the users add new PDF files and assign them to the proper category.

    Thanks!

    Hello Jasper,

WordPress does not support document galleries, only images can be a gallery. That said, we are going to add this feature to some of the next releases.

    Thanks for your response, Nadia!

Hi Nadia, I’m looking for the same. I want to serve up PDF files from my media library, using the Categories and Media_Categories shortcode options in something like a display-posts lists, e.g. [display-posts media_category=”document” category=”newsletter” orderby=”date” order=”DESC”].

You say you’re looking at this in the next release. Do you have the timing for that? Thanks for any info you can provide.

    -Dan

I need the same feature. I think many others need this as well.
