  • Is [friend-email] a required (*) field in the FORM?

    Yes

    Just so I understand this correctly, if I complete your form I can specify who it is sent to through the address I place in the [friend-email] field. Also, is there no copy of this message sent to the [email protected]?

    Correct, it is a very simple form going to [friend-email].

    And yes, no copy is being sent to anyone else, does that matter? Like I said it worked perfectly until today’s upgrade of the plug-in.

    I see. I tested the form and it arrives successfully.

    Have you tried cloning the FORM and then using the new shortcode?

    Failing that, you could temporarily disable the validation process by adding the following to your wp-config.php file (backup first):

    /** The Contact Form 7 plugin configuration check. */
    define( 'WPCF7_VALIDATE_CONFIGURATION', false );

    Maybe the plugin author Takayuki Miyoshi can chime in here …

    Thanks Barnez, but to be clear, are you saying the form was delivered even though it shows it having a syntax error?

    Yes, I completed the form and received the invitation to the email address I placed in the To field.

    I tested it as well, and since it works we’re good. Looks like it’s just a error on the configuration syntax check process.

    Happy to hear all is well ??
