Not receiving email notifications of new comments

  • I have never received email notifications of new comments. I have tried replacing the theme, thinking it was a theme related issue, but the problem persists. The site is https://www.slowchange.com.au

    I’ve checked both boxes In the section Settings > Discussion: Email me whenever a) someone posts a comment and b) a comment is held for moderation.

    My email address is set in Settings > General
    It is also specified in Users as an Administrator.
    (Both entries have the same email address)

    I’ve checked SPAM folders and have changed the email address to test that it is not a problem with my email account.

    I’ve searched through these forums to see if anyone had posted similar problems, but any that i found were from more than 4 years ago (some up to 8 years ago) and none of them had any official resolutions offered.

  • Check the Settings → Discussion page to make sure email notifications are turned on.

    Are you getting all other email from server ?
    if not consult your server team

    if your server support smpt emailm then install wp smpt plugin and configure that to recv email

    Yes as noted in my original post, I have checked both boxes to receive email notifications in Settings > Discussion.

    I do receive all other emails to my email address, and have never had problems receiving emails….. except in this case ie. I have never received any notifications from this self hosted WP site. I don’t have a server team though (!!?) and I’m not clear on why I would install wp smtp plugin? Surely I should receive emails from wordpress without requiring a plugin?

    Possibly relevant: I have also not received notifications on this thread in the support forum. My www.ads-software.com account uses the same email address that I’m having trouble with above.

    I can see in the comment trail above that member bukge posted a reply 2 weeks ago and I didn’t receive any notification by email.

    Can anyone help me with this? it’s been 4 months and I still don’t have a resolution?
