My website only has a homepage. There doesn’t seem to be any way people can add comments. Is this possible?

  • Hi there,

If you are using WordPress latest posts as a Home page, please check the settings as mentioned below:

    1. Dashboard >> Settings >> Discussion >> Default article settings, Other comment settings
    2. Dashboard >> Settings >> General >> Anyone can register

Also check whether you have enabled the option to allow comments on specific posts or pages.

Let me know if I am missing something.

    Thanks,
    Archana.

I am using a static front page as a Home page.

I don’t know how to enable the option to allow comments on specific pages.

    Hi there,

If you are using a static page as Home page then you will get an option to enable comment for that specific page as I said earlier.

Go to Dashboard >> Pages >> Your home page >> Edit >> Discussion >> Allow comments >> Just check this box and save the changes.

If you can’t find the Discussion box, you will see “Screen Options” in the top right side of the page. Open it and check on the “Comments” box and then follow the steps.

Hope this will work for you!

    Thanks,
    Archana.

Now I can’t get on to my website. It says “error establishing a database connection”. I will try your suggestions when I can access my website.

    Thanks.

Found “Allow comments” under Quick Edit. You seem to be able to do more things under “Quick Edit” than you can under “Edit”.

    Thanks for your help.
