  • Hello I also have the problem since I updated the plugin. Google map no longer appears on my events.
I have yet not done the update of wordpress
    Events Version 4.1.2

One more confirmation. No more Google Map on single event page after 4.5 update.

    Events calendar version: 4.1.2

    Hi Jens,

Sorry for the issues you are having. I can help troubleshoot this with you.

I test on my site and the Map is working for me in 4.5 so maybe a change happened in that release that is causing this.

I visited your site, thanks for the link and see this javascript error:

Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: .main_menu .menu li > a[href*=#]

Not sure where that is coming from, but I do know it is not our coding. Can you please see about getting that resolved and we can go from there is the issue is not fixed.

If you can create a new post of your own that would be appreciated ??

Before doing so see if you can please follow our testing for conflicts guide:

    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/testing-for-conflicts/

And see if that can narrow down the cause of this.

    Thanks

Thank you, @brian for the quick response.

Yes, the problem is resolved by removing the javascript error. It caused by the theme update. The expression should be ‘href*=\\#’ instead of ‘href*=#’

In terms of recommendation, I understand the rule. But seems the problem is same, “Google map isn’t showing up”.

    Anyway, appreciate your help.

Thank you, Brian and 2bearstudio for resolving the problem.

@2bearstudio: Do you know where to change the expression?

@jens Your are using Enfold theme too?!

Okay, here is where you do. Open avia.js in the theme’s js subfolder, find and replace
    ‘href*=#’ with ‘href=\\#’.

So you need to do a find and replacement. This expression appears 3 times in the file.

@2bearstudio: I’m using Enfold theme too, right! I just found 1 expression that matches ‘href*=#’. But only this replacement with ‘href*=\\#’ (with the asterisk) it works fine again.

Thanks for for your kind help!

@jens Guess that relates to the version of the Enfold theme used on your website. Anyway, glad it works for you too.

    Cheers!

    Hey folks,

Thanks for confirming that the fix works ??

    Best,
    Nico
