• Hi,

Wondering if someone can help, I am outsourcing some design and programming work for my site. Found and selected someone at getafreelancer.com and before I place money in escrow, they have asked I email my theme so they can put it on a test server.

Not sure exactly what files to email??

Do I send them the complete Public_HTML file or only the wp-content folder?

Might sound dumb, probably can ask the person doing the work, but rather not look like a dumbass!

    Anyhow thanks again.

  • There should be a folder in the themes folder under wp-content that’s your theme. You should see several there, including default and classic and yours. I’m pretty sure they’d want the entire subdirectory.

    Hope that helps.
Also, I’d love to know how things go with your freelancer. I’d like to do my own theme, but I never seem to have the time….

    Good luck!

You probably want to pack the themes in a archive file format (.zip, .rar, etc.).

In my themes folder I have “classic” and “default”, I am using the default one.

So basically all I need to do is zip the “default” folder and send?

Yeah, it sounds like it. Or, just let them know you’re using the default, if they already have WordPress installed on their server. Unless, of course, you made changes to the default template, you know, in the actual code.

So, did you ever get a quote on their design? Did it work out? Are you still working through the design process? Did any of our responses help?
