• Resolved virtualassets

    Hello.

I originally started creating my website through wordpress.com (virtualassets.wordpress.com) and once obtaining a domain and host, exported the file over into www.ads-software.com via my cpanel.

I absolutely love the Pique theme, but there are several differences now that I’m working on it again. (new site is currently https://www.virtual-assets.ca/wp) The biggest one for me – there is no option to add my logo in the customization area. I can only change the site title and tag line.

Any help in getting this figured out would be so greatly appreciated!

  • Can you show the screenshot of the customization area?

I would absolutely love to, but since I don’t know enough code to drop them here, I’ve uploaded them to a dead page on my site! ?? The first 2 images are what I’m currently working with and the third image is from my original on wordpress.com

While I’m at it, I’m not sure if another thread is required for this or not…

Another issue I’ve noticed after switching over is that with the grid theme that I am using on 2 pages, only one of my 6 feature images is actually showing as a circle as it did on .com. The other 5 are appearing oval.

You can add a logo by activating the Jetpack plugin. Jetpack brings much of the WordPress.com functionality to self-hosted sites.

Could you please provide a link to the two pages on your self-hosted site, and the corresponding pages on the WordPress.com version, so I can take a look?

Hi Kathryn – thanks for your responses. In the end, I have decided to use a different theme that suits my content a little better. I will close this thread.

    Hi Kathryn,

You said “You can add a logo by activating the Jetpack plugin. ”
I have activated the jetpack plugin but there is still no option to add my logo in the customization area…
Is there any option to activate in jetpack to see the logo customization ?
(I’m not on wordpress.com,I’ve downloaded wordpress and hosted it, and I’m using jetpack in dev mode)

    thank you very much

Why the heck does one need to install the JetPack plugin and create a WordPress account for such kind of customization??

It really feels like Automattic wants to generate users for their services here.
