    Hello,

My site is https://www.ieltsforuae.com and I would like to change URL to https://www.totalielts.com, while still keeping all of my content, plugins etc… I purchased the new domain name through GoDaddy then pointed the nameservers to Bluehost. After that, I waited a few days as instructed and then followed these instructions down where it says “Changing the URL directly in the database.”
    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL
I read in someone else’s post that once you do this it could take up to three days for my domain name to propagate fully, but now it’s been three days and when I type in my old URL or new URL I am still not led to my website. Did I make an error along the way or should I just keep patiently waiting? Thanks in advance, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • I have just checked the nameservers and they have not completely propogated across yet.

Might take a few days still to come across

Oh ok, thanks for the quick response innuvo! I changed the nameservers on Saturday. Will the fact that I changed the URL name through the codex instructions before the nameservers have completely propogated effect things at all?

    Hello anyone,

It has now been 9 days since I pointed the nameservers to Bluehost and about a week since changing the URL through phpAdmin and there are still been no progress. Is this normal? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
