URGENT – Add fields to Donor Information section of the form.

You should never play with the core files, because they will be overwritten. You can definitely use the hooks and add-on using those. Sadly, there is no simple way.

I have added the custom fields using action and hooks but that data is not getting stored in the database.

Probably not. There’s no code in place for adding custom fields yet.
