    Hello,

I created a table, and added the shortcode to the page.

And there seems to be a conflict with the Main Menu navigation, beause only on the page where I have used that shortcode, the dropdown (child levels) don’t appear.

    Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out why the TablePress plugin is causing the top menu dropdowns to disappear.
In other words, the sub-categories don’t show for the top menu on the page where I have placed the shortcode for a table (created using TablePress)

    you can see here:
    (compare the navigation menu)
    Works correctly

    Menu doesn’t show sub-categories

Do you think there is anything I can do to fix this?? I was hoping to use this plugin to create different tables for many othe pages…

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

From what I can see, you are affected by the issue mentioned in https://tablepress.org/faq/js-functions-not-working/
Your theme or a plugin is loading a very old version of the jQuery JS library from the Google CDN, instead of using the up-to-date version that comes with WordPress. This causes JS errors that break the menu.

    oh wow! thank you.
How could I fix this? Can I manually update it?

    Hi,

you could try finding the lines that cause this in your theme (they look similar to what you can see in that FAQ entry), or maybe contact your theme developers about this. They should be able to provide an updated version of your theme.

They should definitely be interested in this, as their theme would not be accepted for the official WordPress theme repository anymore, due to what they are doing with that old jQuery library.

I will have to do a lot of researching now ??

    Hi,

it shouldn’t be that difficult ?? Your first step should be to find the lines of code similar to those in the FAQ entry, in your theme’s file’s “functions.php” or “header.php”.

If you find them, you should contact your theme developer and ask them to remove/fix them. In parallel, we can fix the issue ourselves temporarily then.

    Tobias

    Hello there,

We’ve updated our site and deactivated our plug-ins/reactivated as well, BUT this did not fix the issue of the disappearing drop down menus.

I’m reading that it could be an issue with the style.css file and the line height, but I’m not sure where to add the code.

    Here is the url: https://smbcatl.org

Can you please take a look and let me know what you think.

    Thanks,
    Web Support.

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

Are you using the TablePress plugin on your site? It doesn’t look like it, so that I can only suggest that you contact the support team of your theme. There are several JavaScript issues that could be causing this.

    Regards,
    Tobias

No TablePress plugin. I’ve checked. Thank you. How would I find the particular support team for my specific theme ? (Real Church)

    Hi,

you could check the “readme.txt” file in the theme or the “Themes” screen in WordPress. Otherwise, check the site where you have bought/downloaded it from.

    Regards,
    Tobias
