Restrict shipping location by product

Ok in my store I have a set of products I want to only ship to United states, so I want that item to be unavailable to people outside of there. Yet at the same time I have another group of products I’d like to ship worldwide. Can this be done with the shipping classes?

As right now I have a flat rate setup and attached and set only a price for a shipping class named US standard which I set in the product I want to only ship to the US but on the cart and checkout I see nothing stopping anyone from around the world adding to cart or ordering.
