Trying to upgrade to 2.5 – I got a load of errors and now I can’t get anything to work.

    I have:

Fatal error: Unknown function: require_wp_db() in /home/spiring/public_html/blog/wp-settings.php on line 204

I don’t know what to do.

Is there anyone who can help me please?

When does this error happen? Please describe how and where you are when it happens.

I used the installation plug in. It did a back up, downloaded the software and commenced installation.

I got a lot of errors and now what I posted above is what I get on my blog page.

I don’t know of any “installation plugin”. Do you mean some kind of automatic upgrade plugin…?

Try instead a normal manual upgrade.

Yeah it was a plug in – been using it for ages with no problems before – it looks like the issue is more about 2.5 than my plug in.

I believe I have already upgraded hence no blog – can I go backwards?

What does the error on my first post mean?

The error means that not all WP 2.5 files were uploaded… or some of them are corrupted.
That’s why I said do a regular manual upgrade. Your plugin might not be compatible with 2.5.

Ok thanks Moshu. I’m going away for a few days tomorrow so I’ll have a go when I get back.

Thanks again – I’ll post back how I got on.

Thanks Moshu – I did a manual upgrade and all is sorted.
