Profile pic, comment count, date, and edit in each post?
-
I am having issues with repositioning the profile pic, comment count, adding the author name, repositioning the date, in the most recent version of WP 2016 Theme.
I edited and added code to the the code of the CSS Stylesheet and the index.php file to try to reposition the image by posting code from searching Google and www.ads-software.com for.
I would like to know how to do all of the above; such as what code to edit or add, what file to add or edit, where to add or edit the file within that particular file.
CSS Stylesheet code after I edited it:
‘.author-avatar .avatar {
float: left;
height: 65px;
margin: 2.75em 1.75em 1.75em 0;
width: 65px;}’
Index.php code after I added code to it:
‘<?php
/**
* The main template file
*
* This is the most generic template file in a WordPress theme
* and one of the two required files for a theme (the other being style.css).
* It is used to display a page when nothing more specific matches a query.
* E.g., it puts together the home page when no home.php file exists.
*
* @link https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Template_Hierarchy
*
* @package WordPress
* @subpackage Twenty_Sixteen
* @since Twenty Sixteen 1.0
*/get_header(); ?>
<div id=”primary” class=”content-area”>
<main id=”main” class=”site-main” role=”main”><?php if ( have_posts() ) : ?>
<?php if ( is_home() && ! is_front_page() ) : ?>
<header>
<h1 class=”page-title screen-reader-text”><?php single_post_title(); ?></h1>
</header>
<?php endif; ?><?php
// Start the loop.
while ( have_posts() ) : the_post();/*
* Include the Post-Format-specific template for the content.
* If you want to override this in a child theme, then include a file
* called content-___.php (where ___ is the Post Format name) and that will be used instead.
*/
get_template_part( ‘template-parts/content’, get_post_format() );// End the loop.
endwhile;// Previous/next page navigation.
the_posts_pagination( array(
‘prev_text’ => __( ‘Previous page’, ‘twentysixteen’ ),
‘next_text’ => __( ‘Next page’, ‘twentysixteen’ ),
‘before_page_number’ => ‘<span class=”meta-nav screen-reader-text”>’ . __( ‘Page’, ‘twentysixteen’ ) . ‘ </span>’,
) );// If no content, include the “No posts found” template.
else :
get_template_part( ‘template-parts/content’, ‘none’ );endif;
?></main><!– .site-main –>
</div><!– .content-area –><div class=”avatar author-avatar”><?php echo get_avatar( $id_or_email = ‘[email protected]’, $size, $default, $alt, $args ); ?></div>
<?php get_sidebar(); ?>
<?php get_footer(); ?>’Thanks,
Sean
