4.5 no longer allows me to save certain text or fields.

  • I upgraded my sites to WordPress 4.5 and they are now broken, although continuing to display correctly. Basically I can’t insert certain text or fields into either a new or edited post. If I attempt to ‘save’ such a change I get thrown out to the top domain.

    After disabling all plugin, updating all themes etc, and discovering that the problem affected all my wordpress sites I created a new installation of wordpress and tested that (no plugins, no non-standard themes) same problem.

    I have uploaded the 4.5.1 release which unfortunately made no change to the problem.

    While the problem does not appear to relate to length, and one test simply involved trying to insert the word ‘from’ anywhere in the post, the piece of text I am trying to insert consists of 452 words, or 2,623 characters with spaces.

    And further testing shows that I can’t include any pictures into the post. I click on ‘Add Media’, select the picture, and add, and nothing!
