Add option to stop keywords in target url linking to target url

If possible can you add a setting to stop keywords in the target url from linking to the target url?

E.g.

Say I want “listing sites” linked to /listing-sites/ I would rather not links on that page link back to itself.

Something like a: if ($post->url == $target_url) {break;} in the loop or whatever mechanic is building out the links.
