WP 4.5 issues with uploads folder

Hi,

I updated today to WP 4.4.2 to WP 4.5.1.
I’m using BackupWP Free, version 3.3

After updating theme, plugins and WordPress all images on my site have disappeared.
Disabling BackupWP shows them again. Enabling makes them disappear. (Repeatable behaviour).

In wp_config.php I’ve redefined define ( ‘UPLOADS’, ”.’uploads’ );
This works fine, except when BackupWP is enabled. In that case WP is looking for images in folder /wp-content/uploads, while they in fact are in /uploads.
