I would like to edit my home page to match my other pages – specifically, I’ve been putting a slider in the banner widget section of each page. But when I put the same slider and set it to display on the home page, it doesn’t show up. This is true even if I assign a page on which the the banner widget works to be the home page. It appears that with any page assigned to be a home page, code somewhere is blocking either the banner or the widget inside the banner from showing up.
How can I get this to work? Thanks

Is your blog on the front page of your site or on an inner page?
Are you using Display Widgets, Jetpack’s Widget Visibility, or something else to publish widgets on select pages…or more than one of these?

The blog will be on an inner page (not set up yet). I am using Restrict Widgets (I prefer typing in page titles rather than searching for checkboxes, it’s quicker). Here’s the link to my site-in-progress:

    Thanks!

I’ve never used that plugin before, so you may want to contact their support and let them know what it is you want to do but not working. The banner sidebar position is available globally throughout your site pages and posts, but to specifically select where to publish a widget, this is where the plugin functionality comes into play.

Showing widgets on select areas of your site with plugins (such as the ones I mentioned) work with similar capabilities, but may do some things differently from each other.

One thing to note, is that the front page and home page are two different things. The front page being the actual front (first) page a visitor enters when they go to your website, while the home page could be the front page if your blog is there, otherwise if you move your blog in the site, this becomes your “blog” home page.

Basically the front page is the front page while the home page is the page that displays blog posts.

I’d contact their support and let them know what you are trying to do and see if they have a solution for you.

Thanks so much – I deleted Restrict Widgets and tried the same show/hide scenario with Display Widgets, and it’s working as you said it should!
