    Hi —
I’ve been using this plugin for a few months and love how it does the job so well! I’ve just noticed that the popup window has stopped working for external links; I’m not sure how long this has been happening.
I am using the latest version of WordPress (v.4.5.2) and this plugin v.1.2.2 (and have tried to use some older versions that you suggested to someone else who needed help). I’ve also resaved all tabs in Settings. And, I’ve tested by deactivating all other plugins and nothing seems to help.

Any suggestions for what might be causing this?
    Thanks!

Not aware of any particular issues with 4.5.2, and I just verified that it’s working on the site I built it for, which is also upgraded to 4.5.2. Are you using it with the default settings, or have you customized the jQuery selector?

I’ll be glad to take a look if you want to email me the URL…

Thanks….I thought I emailed you earlier this week but can’t find the email. So, I’m just checking, did I respond?
    Sorry–

I’m sorry — I think I replied and it went nowhere!

I have it set to default settings; not using the jQuery selector. You can check it out here: https://pmcs2.hillsidewebsolutions.com/resources/compliance-software-vendors/

Kathy, if you check the javascript console, you’ll find that you’re getting a jQuery error, which will disable anything relying on jQuery, such as my plugin.

It may be due to a conflicting plugin, have you installed any other plugins since mine was working? There may be an issue between the two. I’d recommend temporarily disabling other plugins to check and see if mine starts working again. If you do locate one that conflicts, please do let me know so I can test against it and find out why.

Please keep me posted on the outcome of your testing!

I turned off all plugins and its still not working — I see the jQuery error that you mention and tried to look for it but I’m not that experienced at digging in code; I suspect it might be somewhere in the theme itself since I still am getting it….?

Do you have any idea what might have changed around the time it stopped working? Is it a new theme? A problem in the theme is certainly possible. You could try another just long enough to test the theory. I’d recommend trying one of the bundled themes like twenty sixteen if you try that.

If you’d like to set me up with a temporary admin account on the site, I’d be glad to log in and try to figure out what’s going on. Totally understand, though, if you don’t want to give an internet stranger access to your website. Your call, Feel free to email me. My address is on the plugin website at https://cvstech.com/exit-notifier/.

I couldn’t find your email — but it was the theme; your plugin works well with twenty-sixteen. The theme is amazingly outdated….so I’ll see what I can do about getting it updated and go from there; I’m sure once I get the website all updated, that my problem will be fixed.

Glad to hear you’ve found the problem!

The email is about halfway down the page. I should make it more prominent. I’ll update that soon. Thanks for the feedback!

Let me know if I can be of any help in the future.
