• I recently moved my WP installation to a new server. Everything is going well, except for this:

When I drag a widget from the list to the Sidebar to activate it, and then click “Save Changes”, nothing happens! I reload my blog and the new widgets I’ve added do not show up. The widgets I already had installed (five of them) do show up without a problem, but I cannot add any new widget – whether text, search, tag cloud or whatever.

I have disabled all plugins to see if a conflict exists there, but I still have the problem.

    Any ideas?

I have also tried several different themes. Here’s how it goes:

    1. I add a widget in current theme. When I view my blog, it doesn’t show up in the sidebar.

    2. I change to a different theme. The widget I had added previously shows up!

    3. While still in the new theme, I add another widget. But when I go to view the blog, the change hasn’t showed up!

    4. Then I change to yet another theme. The widget I added in #3 shows up!

But once again, if I attempt to add or remove a widget once I am in the new theme, it doesn’t work.

Something very strange is going on here. Any ideas? Please help!

maybe its a cache issue. thats my answer for everything today.
no, but really, it seems changing themes forces the browser to show newest stuff. try clearing cache, hitting refresh a million times. viewing a different page of your site, and view the site in a different browser. thats a good place to start.

That doesn’t seem to help. I even have a utility that disables my browser’s cache (Safari), so I’m quite certain it isn’t a browser issue.
