Small count up problem

Damn, I’m realy stuck here…

what is the output of the variable (post_date, whatever) you are trying to plug into that..

As actual date for the post, I replace:
strtotime('april 1, 2008')
with the wp tags to get the post date:
the_time('F jS, Y')

I have tried many other ways, but nothing yet…

I can’t do that:

$postdate = the_time('F jS, Y')
because when you use the_time, it prints it on the screen, and doesn’t put it in the variable.

Is there a work-around for it?

This will work:
$postdate = ''.get_post_time('F') . get_post_time('j') . ',' . get_post_time('Y');
