You can use the more tag to display the excerpt with a read more link.

To change the thumbnail size you’ll need to plug the storefront_post_content() function.

To change the thumbnail size you could possibly restrict that with some custom CSS using a max-width CSS parameter.

For custom css it’s best if you add that to a child theme or via a plugin like this one below instead of adding it directly to the file you have pasted into your message.
