Awaken widgets (Mag 1 and Mag 2) aren't working

On the demo of this theme it has underneath the featured slider 3 blocks of latest posts and then it goes on further with other separated articles. It took me a while to realise how to get my website to do that and it turns out it’s under the widgets tab as Magazine 1 and Magazine 2. Well I’ve added things to them to try and look like the demo and my website isn’t publishing them.
It’s still just a load of blog posts. It’s happy to put widgets under the main sidebar. It shows those just fine!

Help please. What am I doing wrong? It doesn’t say I need to go PRO for these to work.
