    1. I enter text into the Send email confirmation to form submitter field on SETTINGS>>PIRATE FORMS>>>OPTIONS

    2. I select SAVE CHANGES

    3. I navigate away from the OPTIONS screen

    4. I navigate back to the OPTIONS screen

    5. Send email confirmation to form submitter field is blank

  • Me too.

Nothing emailed to the submitter either.

I disabled the JetPack plugin and now it seems to work – that is, the Send email confirmation to form submitter field is still blank, but it did send an email to the submitter.

Tried enabling SMTP but that gives a time out error.

Maybe next I’ll have a look at how to get Proper Contact Form to work with Zerif Lite.

    Hi,

Did you guys fill in proper info to SMTP fields? Let me know. ??

When I set the SMTP fields and submit the form I get a server error. I can only get it to work without SMTP. The info is still in the SMTP fields, but the first tick box on that tab is unchecked.

Just checking again now and submitting the form with smtp active and after clicking the send message button the page starts to reload, takes a long time, the recaptcha thing comes up with “expired”, but actually got through to say the email was successful. No email has come through though. The contact has appeared in the contacts database.

It seems the worst bug is that the text in the confirm_email field keeps blanking out when you navigate away from the form – I’ve confirmed this on another wordpress installation. Maybe something to do with the tabbed settings interface? Proper Forms doesn’t have this bug, but also doesn’t have all the features of Pirate Forms.

One work around I’m thinking about is hard coding the desired text into the settings description box, so each time I make changes I can cut and paste the client’s text in there.

Tried smtp without ssl and got an error message:

Warning: stream_socket_enable_crypto(): Peer certificate CN='*.hosting-services.net' did not match expected CN='mail.mydomain.com' in /home/myhosting/public_html/mywebpage/wp-includes/class-smtp.php on line 344

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/myhosting/public_html/mywebpage/wp-includes/class-smtp.php:344) in /home/myhosting/public_html/mywebpage/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1171

Do I need an ssl certificate to get this to work?

I installed Postman SMTP as recommended on another thread and found the ssl smtp port wasn’t working so changed to the non-ssl port and so now smtp is working – but the contents of the Confirm_email field in the options tab still blanks out when I navigate away.

    Hi,

I’m sorry for the late answer. I just tested this, and you are right about the Send Email Confirmation field not saving. So, I just reported this, and we will try to fix this in the next update.

    Thank you,
    Rodica

    Thank you!

    Hi,

The update is live. Could you please update and let me know if everything is ok now?

    Thank you,
    Rodica

Thanks! It seems to be all working now.

For some reason the Contact notification sender email had adopted the contents of Contact submission recipients, but I can’t replicate this glitch, so hopefully it was a passing hiccup.

    THanks again!
