PHP Fatal error – trying to migrate my site, wordfence-waf.php issue w/multisite
-
This is the error my new host reports they are seeing post-migration:
“PHP Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required ‘/home/tomoon/public_html/wordfence-waf.php”
…That is referencing my OLD host’s directory structure. I can’t figure out what file/db table is looking for this?
I am using WP Multisite. Prior to the files being migrated by my new host, I had to manually delete Wordfence’s tables, because of that darn file I cannot migrate anything when it’s stuck looking for it when a) it doesn’t exist now, and b) my .htaccess file doesn’t reference it anymore.
I had to delete the WF db files manually, because I could not get anything on the WF Options page to save on my MS install (I let it spin for at least 30 minutes and nothing…), and the WF Assistance plugin doesn’t work either. I tried multiple times to tell it to delete the WF tables after I had uninstalled WF, but the tables were all still there. Thus, manual deleting had to happen.
I really, really, really would like to avoid having to install everything from scratch at my new host on this!! I have at least seven sub-sites on my MS install, each with different templates. I cannot believe that this plugin is being such a pain in the backside with MOVING a site!!
The craziest part of all, is at my old host, my site seems to load fine. So either there is something caching somewhere that is making it ‘look’ like it is working fine after removing WF and its tables, or there is some wild file somewhere in WP that is clinging to that file path. As I noted – I updated my .htaccess file so it does not reference anything WordFence, and I double checked my migrated database and the WF tables are not there. So what could it be?
