When the importer is looking for duplicates (to avoid re-importing trips), it looks for a tripit_segment_id as postmeta (which I doubt you’re manually removing), and then it also uses a core function called post_exists(), which uses title, content and date for comparison.

I wouldn’t have thought that just changing the content would make it re-import, since the postmeta would still be there. Can you try maybe just adding the image as a Featured Image (but not inserting it into the post content itself), and then outputting it using your theme?

On my site I output maps purely via the theme, which looks for certain postmeta on a post, and then goes about rendering a map based on that.

Ok, here is the strange bit

Even if all I do is change the featured image, it will import again

Another interesting bit, if I simply edit the post from “Published” to “Draft” … it will import it again .. ??
