I have been using cforms II successfully for the last 3 years on the same site. The way it’s setup I have the contact forms send a message from [email protected] (not the actual email, but it’s just an email box on the server) and the form sends the message to the same email box (kind of like if you sent yourself an email). I also have a forwarder setup for the email box.

So the way it’s worked is person fills in cformII > message goes to email box > message distributed to group.

For some reason now, the message goes to the email box successfully but it does not get forwarded. If I send a message directly from the mailbox to the users who are supposed to receive the forwarded message they get that but not the original forwarded message.

I’ve talked with the host and they say all forwarders are working properly. As I send a message from an email box, it is forwarded to the group. But it appears to be only if it comes from the form that it doesn’t get distributed.

I changed the forwarding email box (example: [email protected] to [email protected]) and the first message went through successfully but I tried it again but that didn’t go through. It goes to the email box on the server but no external email addresses.

I also set CFORMS to send from my gmail account, that didn’t work.

Sorry for the long post, but wanted to let people know what I’ve tried thus far.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

How do you send the emails from cformsII? Do you use any plugin to tweak wp_mail() to not using PHP’s mail() function? If not, I would give WP Mail SMTP plugin a try.

Did the problem appear with the upgrade to my fork or did it appear the last days? If it’s the latter case, maybe your provider is United Internet, who switched to strictly follow SPF rules these days. I just read about it.

It was just noticed the week before I submitted this. The host is BlueHost, thinking about moving them to someone else as their customer support has checked forwarders but other than that they don’t seem to be responsive to helping deterimine why the messages will be received by the site mailboxes but won’t forward to external addresses.

Do you have a host to suggest?

I’m having a similar issue with the cFormsII forms. The emails are sent to the TO field, but no one in the Bcc field is receiving messages. Can someone please help? I phoned Bluehost who said I need to ask the plugin developers if their code is adding/removing something.

@typebee If you still cannot send mails as Bcc, please open another issue.

@ctobin I do not have a host to suggest. Can you answer the questions in my first post?
