Discussion board with user groups

  • Hello!

    I want to use wordpress as well as a board – so I’m looking for a simple discussion board system. Aber one thing is important: It should have user groups, that you can decide if users can join / read / post into a subforum.

    there are a couple of plugin forums like this one

    bbpress can be incorporated into wordpress

    here’s a comparison chart of various php based boards only you know which is right for you

    I tried simple-forum (listed above), but there’s no way to limit users to certain sub-forums. Every user has the same access to all sub-forums and forum-groups.

    Is there any other solution where users can select what groups they belong to and only read/write to blog-posts for specific forum-groups.
