How to make posts full-width?

  • Hi there,

    I am using the Hemmingway theme, which I love, but would like some help to tweak the posts and front page.

    Is there a way I can make my posts full-width? I’ve removed the sidebar, and would like my posts to fill the whole width of the site. This is easy to do with the pages, but I am not sure how to do it with the posts.

    Any help would be much appreciated!

    Hello,

    You need to first create child theme of Hemmingway theme. After that copy index.php and single.php file from Hemmingway folder to Hemmingway-child folder. Then you need to work on these two template to make it full width.

    Thank you very much for this helpful advice.

    Once I have copied those two files across, what changes should I make to them to make the posts full width?

    octahedral – I would link to my site, only I am still building it so it is password protected at the moment.

    Hi codemovement.pk,

    I’ve installed the child theme; I would like my front page to display posts showing excerpts with a ‘read more’ button, rather than the start of the post content and then a ‘read more’.

    However, I can’t get this to work with the child theme you created. Do you have any tips?

    Please install this plugin and it will help you to change the read more button. Let me know if you need anything else.
