Hi – I was concerned to see my server backup space was filling up rapidly and on checking backwpup logs i see that the daily full backup has actually been performed 3 times a day.
looking at the WP cron jobs, the backup is scheduled once a day at 3am but there is another task running twice daily: backwpup_check_cleanup at approximately the time of at least one of the other backup instances.
Could this be triggering another backup?
Any ideas how I could get this back down to one a day?
    This is v3.3.1 running on WordPress multisite 4.5.2 on an Ubuntu 14.04LTS Apache2 + PHP5.5 + Mysql

  • backwpup_check_cleanup don’t trigger backups. It should only cleanup.
Did you have installed a chaching plugin?

    Hi Daniel
    I use comet cache (v160521)

Hi I forgot to say that though I use Comet Cache, it is currently switched off as I have been testing a new site.
I am afraid I have had to deactivate backwpup as it had killed my server (out of disk) and also my remote backup (out of space)!
Until I can figure out what is going on it will have to remain off… ??

I set it to run monthly rather than removing it and it tried to do several backups on one day before it ran out of space and nearly killed my server…
I think this needs looking at!

Can you send me screnshots about your settings to [email protected].
