I’m very happy to have found PDF Embedder and it is working well for our site, so thank you!

I ran into a situation where a PDF file contained two periods in the file name, for example: Newsletter-Iss.-4.pdf

PDF Embedder displayed it properly in Firefox, IE, and Edge. However, in Chrome, PDF Embedder displayed “Invalid Number: Y” and did not display the file. Renaming the file to Newsletter-Iss-4.pdf resolved this.

Not a biggie, but thought I’d let you know. Personally, I don’t like naming files that way, but one of my users managed to sneak one past me.

  • Great to hear from you – glad you like the plugin!

Thanks for reporting this error. Strange that it should only upset Chrome, but I’ll take a look and see if I can fix it anyway.

    Regards,

I may have jumped the gun…

I was unable to reproduce this on a different computer, so perhaps it’s an issue on my development box.

I’ll do some further checking and let you know.

    Clearly I’ve done something idiotic!

Today I’ve tested this on three different machines (including the one where I first noticed the problem) and have been unable to reproduce it.

My apologies for this – I should have spent more time testing before posting to this forum.

    Thanks for the quick response.

OK thanks for the update! I’ll leave it for now until someone else spots something similar…

    Regards,

    Dan
