• Hello All, Complete Newbie here. Been studying WordPress online and loving every second of it. Today I made a foolish mistake modifying my theme CSS style-sheet and now I am 100% locked out of my web site unable to even get in to the WP-Admin page. Here’s the link

    https://interfaithbook.com/wp-login.php?action=rp&key=G4tWLatp62AnOg3Gzw1G&login=Blaxcot

If I could get access to the file I was messing with the fix is simple as I know what I did wrong. My problem is that when I try to login to my Admin page I get a white-screen with the “Parse error: syntax error” across the top. Please forgive the dumb-enthusiasm of the new guy and give us a suggestion or two if ye can.

    Kind regards Mike,

Never never never never never (never ever) edit files via appearance -> editor. One slip and boom, there you are. And there you are!

Do you have FTP access or access via your hosting control panel? You can use that to download the file you messed up, fix it, and then re-upload it.

Yes I feel so stupid and awful ?? Lesson learned! Well named mister sterndata. It’s being hosted by 1&1 so I’ll need to dig around in there to see. Thanks for the constructive criticism and good direction. Let’s see.

If there’s a backup of the site, you can use that to get a version of the file before you edited it.
