Sorry I don’t have an answer for this because it uses WP Cron system so I am guessing for some unknown reason, the WP cron fires multiple times?

You can use https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-crontrol/ to see if there is only 1 cron job running for this plugin.

it lists one event for each for bqckup, optimise etc

That is correct. To be honest, I also have no idea why that happens. Maybe when a cron is firing, it is stuck then it is not mark as done so the system register another cron? Or so happen that at the same millisecond, 2 or more users visited your site and the cron got triggered at the same time.

I have had over a thousand emails in the past 24 hours from WP-DBManager. How do I get them to stop? I’ve already deactivated the plugin. I can uninstall it, but I suspect that whatever is going in is already running in the background. (I deactivated it yesterday, and still received ~800 emails after deactivation.) There isn’t an attachment containing the backup, and hasn’t been for months. (I just realized it yesterday.) I read on another thread that this is likely because the backup file is too large for my email server. This is fine. I’ll find a cloud backup service. But right now, I need the emails to stop.

I’ve run the plugin suggested above and it’s not showing any events for this plugin. I’m getting multiple emails *every minute.* They’re all going to my spam folder, so they’re at least not crowding my inbox, but there has to be some way to stop the emails. This is ridiculous.

I would suggest restarting your PHP process via CPanel or something. If you can’t find any events from this plugin, most probably one of your PHP process or something went rouge.
