• I’m using MailPoet to send out weekly course emails after the content is being dripped with LearnDash in a Multisite on GoDaddy hosting.

I added 46 emails sequence that goes over 197 days (6 months) but I’m having issues.

After adding a new user to the site using the “ADD NEW USERS” plugin from WPMU Dev, they get auto added to the WordPress Members list.

I then go to the subscribers tab and add them to the “Program Members” list using the ‘Bulk Actions’ dropdown.
I go to the Newsletters tab but the number of Scheduled Emails stayed the same.

I had “Enable MailPoet’s Cron” checked with “No thanks”. So I uncheck and save.
Go back to the Newsletters tab but nothing changes.
Recheck “Enable MailPoet’s Cron”, Go back to the Newsletters tab but nothing changes.
Finally I deleted the new subscriber and readded them, checking “Program Members” and vola the number of Scheduled Emails goes up by 1.
    So what is causing that?
Should I just delete the “WordPress Users” list as I’m not using it?

I don’t have “Ignore current subscribers” checked though when I first setup some of the emails I did. Went back and changed it.

Next for automation, once I’m sure I want to stick with using this vs using our MailChimp account, I’ll buy https://easydigitaldownloads.com/downloads/mailpoet/.

But what if that doesn’t work cause this is acting weird?

    Thanks,
    Karissa

  • Hello Karissa,

as you have probably guessed by now, adding or moving a subscriber to a list via the batch actions dropdown on the Subscribers page doesn’t trigger automatic emails. They need to be added to that list when signing up to your website.

If all users that are being added to your website become WordPress Users, you should use the automatic email option that sends a new newsletter after someone is being added to your website in any WordPress role.

Is there some sort of filter how we can change this? This is kind of a big problem for us.
