I’m having a problem with my blog limiting the front page to the most recent three entries.

I’ve changed the settings in Options/Reading to “show at most 10 posts,” but still it’s only displaying the three most recent. Anything more goes over to archives.

I’m using PressRow. Could this be a problem with the theme’s coding? Where would I find any code there that controls this kinda thing?

  • index.php of your theme… in your favourite text editor, find “showposts” or “numberposts” depending on which function is being used.

Yep. That fixed it. For some reason, Pressrow has a default showposts=3 in the index.php file that isn’t affected by the Options page.

Changed it to 10 and voila!

    Thanks for the help!

if you want it to respect the options page, simply remove the &showposts=10 part altogether.

Alternately, this allows you now to vary the number of posts shown on categories, in search, etc… but keep your front page showing any number you like.
