• Really appreciate any handholding here. I installed wordpress 2.5 on my brand new server and it said installed successfully. My next step is to import my content from my existing wordpress.com blog and then point my domain to my new server. However I can’t get past a page on my server that has the following links (that all seem to link to my live wordpress.com blog):

Logging out just takes me to my live site. I would expect that I should be able to get to the “my dashboard” where i could import my current blog content and customize everything. Yet I can’t get to “my dashboard.” Do you know what I’m doing wrong?

  • I’m confused. If you haven’t already set the DNS servers at your host, you wouldn’t even be able to view your website (unless it’s with an IP address hosts sometimes give you so you can set things up while the domain is propagating?). And if you haven’t already imported the content from your previous blog, it’s impossible for a fresh install on a new server to point to the old blog. Ok so your problem is that you can’t log into your admin panel? What exactly does it do when you try?
