self banned using wordpress-hard

Ouch it hurts!
Somehow I banned the host public IP which triggered wordpress-hard. All wp-cron jobs stopped working and got lots of missed schedule posts.
I must always remember to set ignoreip to the host IP in /etc/fail2ban/jail.local!
