    Hi Paul!

My new problem is similar to this: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/admin-access-key-lockout?replies=4. This plugin is not giving access to even the super-admin even after supplying CORRECT access key. To remove any doubt, I decactivated the plugin using forceOff file and then changed the Security Admin Access Key. But even then plugin is not accepting the access key and not giving access to the settings.

Plugin is not even throwing any error; it just does nothing. In “Audit Trail” there are 5 similar entries in “Shield” section. The “Event” of these entries is “transgression counter started” and the “Message” is “Auto Black List transgression counter was started for visitor at IP address “XXX.XXX.XXX.XX”.”

What do you think is happening here?

Do you have any other security plugin installed or anything that would somehow be filtering your POST requests. Perhaps mod-security? Or, could you try a very simple access key that is alphanumeric and isn’t a known word, e.g. abc123 ? This will hopefully eliminate any sort of filtering by the server.

The other issue might be that it can’t, for whatever reason set the access cookie… are there any php errors being generated when you submit – could you try putting on WordPress debug mode?

No, I do not have any other security plugin. Before Shield, I was using iThemes Security plugin. But when I discovered that it was interfaring with “Theme My Login” plugin, I started hunting for another security plugin and stumbled upon yours.

Apart from “Theme My Login” I am using “Limit Login Attempts” plugin which does a part of what Shield does.

I’ll do what you have suggested in a while and report back to you.

    Hello Paul!

I think I’ve found the source of all these weird problems. And it’s again “Theme My Login” plugin. So, unfortunately, I have to choose between TML and Sheild. I would like to use both, but that’s how WordPress works.

Finally, I’ve decided – with heavy heart – to go with Shield. Let’s hope our association will of long term! ??

I hope that you wont be disappointed with your decision. It looks like theme my login is problematic for a lot of plugins, not just ours. It’s come up a few times actually.

Thanks for reporting back and working to find the problem.
