• Hey folks, I’m testing out a plugin called Popupally and I’m trying to configure it to display a popup when the user clicks a text link. Inside that text link I have this:

<a href="#" class="popup-click-open-trigger-1">Click here to put your name in the hopper and thanks for playing!</a>

But when it gets processed through the page builder it looks like this:

<a href="#">Click here to put your name in the hopper and thanks for playing!</a>

    essentially losing the class designation.

Is the theme unable to make internal calls to the back end as Popupally’s tech support suggests? Any ideas for workarounds?

    Thanks!

    Daniel

  • Hi Daniel,

Where are you adding this link?

Hey Melissa, thank for your response. I’m putting that code in an HTML module toward the bottom of my homepage.

Can you be more specific? I’m not sure why the code is being stripped out, but it would help to know if you’re using a particular section or widget to add the link.

I’ll try…. I’m using one of the HTML modules available under “basic modules” in the page builder. I put the HTML module in the 1st column of a 3-column row and added the code in line 1. I’ve checked the row and column settings and there’s no extra formatting or extraneous CSS stuff in the way.

Is that helpful? If you need to get in there and take a closer look, that’d be fine with me.

    Hi there,

Hmm. Make doesn’t have modules… we have sections. Are you saying you put the code into a Columns section column via the text editor?

I can’t think of a reason your class would be stripped from a link from the theme itself… Can you disable your other plugins to see if there’s a conflict?

Oh, I see, yes, I’m using the Beaver Builder plugin, which I decided to do at the same time as Make, so I think of them together, Sorry!

I’ll try deactivating BB and see what happens…

well, after deactivating Beaver Builder, the code wasn’t stripped from the editor, but the popup still didn’t happen as hoped. Hmmmm…..

Hey again, just checking back in.. When I deactivate ALL of my plugins, including Beaver Builder, the code isn’t stripped like what happens when BB is active. But the popup still doesn’t work.

The popup people say this is because of the theme… That it’s not sending calls to the backend….

Thanks for looking into this, Melissa..

    Hey Daniel,

Sorry about that. We’re not able to provide support for plugins (except the ones we explicitly support). You’ll want to find another plugin to use. I know Make works with other email popups, so I’m not sure what this one is doing different.
