backround image stopped working

Hi,
i’ve tested several splash plugins and for very simple spash page plugin im not able to see the backroung image anymore.
after deleting and installing again i can see the old filled in values, so i’m wondering if the deletion left some old files that are causing this issue.
any insight is appreciated.
