    Hello,

My WordPress, NextGEN and all plugins are up to date. Suddenly, I am receiving a strange error when trying to perform any search on my site, saying the following at the top of a blank white page:

Fatal error: Call to a member function get() on a non-object in /var/www/vhosts/s18517905.onlinehome-server.com/wanderluster.net/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/datamapper/module.datamapper.php on line 94

You can view an example of the error here:
    https://www.wanderluster.net/?s=europe

Any idea what may have happened and how to resolve this?

Thanks so much in advance for your time and assistance!!
    Samer

@architeqt – What has changed on your site since you recall not seeing this error message?

    Hello Cais,

The only thing that changed was an update to WordPress and an update to my theme. One of these updates must be creating the error.

Any idea how to resolve that line 94 in the code, or do you know what it is referring to?

    Thank you!

@architeqt – I’m not seeing anything specifically related to the latest WordPress release on your site that might be related to this issue.

Have you tried temporarily switching to a default WordPress Twenty series theme to see if this issue persists? We’re not aware of any specific issues with Themify themes but as that is the only other referenced change it should be reviewed just in case.

As to the line reference, if all was working before then that should not be an issue now and unless there were changes directly to your database or the database user’s privileges then I cannot think of why that would be tripping up anything.

    Thanks!

    Hello Cais,

I have switched to the default WordPress theme, and tested the search again and it worked. I assume this means that it is a problem with the Themify theme and not with the plugin?

    Thank you,

@architeqt – It definitely points to a conflict between the two but we are not aware of anything specifically (aside from what you are reporting). Have you advised the Themify authors of the issue you are seeing? Do they have any additional insights to offer?

    Thanks!

    Hi again,

I have alerted the Themify support staff, and they are currently looking into the issue. Hopefully, they can figure out what’s happening!

    Thank you!

    Hello Cais,

I’ve received this comment from the Themify team – can you please check if you can help with their question?

“We’ll forward this to the development team to check. Can you please also contact the plugin’s developers and seek their advise? Any information regarding the datamapper class (that’s where the error is occurring) that would help in debugging could be useful.”

    Thank you!

@architeqt – The data mapper is used as part of the storage for our galleries … although if the Themify authors are having issues tracking this down in their code then I would suggest having then send us a Bug Report so we can get one of our developers to work with them as needed.

You can point them to one of these links: https://imagely.com/report-bug/ or https://imagely.com/contact/

    Thanks!

    Hi Cais,

Thank you for your help – the Themify team has fixed the issue on my site, and will be including the fix on their next framework update.

    Thanks again!
