WordPress with 000webhost

  • Hi,

    This is my first time using WP and I’m trying to host a site at 000webhost. I’m receiving the common error of not being able to connect to the database:
    “Error establishing a database connection”
    I have checked of my DB links in username, database name, password and host name. The table prefix is also set to default: “wp_”.
    I have rigorously checked all of this data. I have also tried using “localhost” in the host name instead. I have tried using both the automatic setup configuration system in WordPress and also making a manual wp-config.php file too, checking all data entered each time. Finally I have made sure that all WP files have been uploaded to the FTP server.

    “Error establishing a database connection” means that there is a problem with the connection to your database and there could be a number of reasons for this. Try reviewing the following codex for possible reasons and solutions: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Common_WordPress_Errors#Error_Establishing_Database_Connection
    – If all the info is correct, then try discussing with your hosting company as they are the only ones that can do anything about any server-side issues.

    i hope this is correct place to find help i too have just joined ooowebhost . i have downloaded word press to my computer and extracted the file but when i go to webhost it keeps asking for an ftp and i have tried everything to find out including filezilla but it doesn’t seem very user friendly and im not good with things like this i have also looked high and low on the net as to how i use www.ads-software.com instead of the wordpress.com i am useing now but its so confusing but i hope you can help me if possible with a dumbies guide so to speak.
