• Hi,

Yesterday I installed the FooGallery + FooBox plugins. Unfortunately I found out that my WP Author can create an image gallery but cannot publish it.
I have to approve it first only then he can work with it (see it in his draft post).

How/where to change the permissions so authors can create & publish their own galleries without mine (admin) intervention?

Current authors’ capabilities only allow to edit their post/pages and edit their published posts. I haven’t enabled any “publishing rights” for authors but would like to add/allow that for this specific gallery publishing.

    Relevant plugins installed:
    – Foo Gallery
    – FooBox HTML & Media Lightbox
    – Capability Manager Enhanced
    – Ultimate Member
    – Edit Flow

I’d appreciate any help on this.

    Thank you,
    Ian

You’ll have to contact Foo support to find out what permissions variations they support and whether there are role capabilities which can be set to meet your goals.

    Hi Kevin,

I already did. They said to contact the Capability Manager support.
It seems like a vicious circle.

Well, I’ll try it once again them.
Going to contact the Foo support..

    Thanks,

CME is only a WP role editor. It is not responsible for how the role capabilities are enforced in third party code.

    Hi,

just in case someone’s still wondering which capability in particular is linked with FooGallery (as I was before): As wingsoftime already suspected, working on FooGallery is based on the same rights as working on posts. If a user does not have the right “publish_posts”, he can’t publish a gallery. If a user does not have the right “edit_others_posts”, he can’t edit other’s galleries or add any gallery to a foreign album.

It would be great to have a separate capabilities (like Envira e.g. has) so that publishing posts and Foo galleries are not necessarily linked. Might be worth considering to include this feature in future versions.

That would be a Foo Gallery feature request.
